RALEIGH, N.C. — Goucher wrapped up its 2011-12 campaign in impressive fashion today, finishing in a tie for seventh place in the hunter seat team standings at the IHSA National Horse Show, which was conducted at the Hunt Horse Complex.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Adding to its already impressive trophy collection, Goucher's equestrian program took home a keepsake from the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's National Horse Show today by being named the large team champion in the first-ever Service Project Award competition.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Goucher's three-rider national team, which consisted of Karli Postel (Newbury Park, Calif./Oaks Christian School), Amory Brandt (Saratoga, Calif./Lynbrook) and Taylor Marcus (Unionville, Pa./Unionville), finished in sixth place at the 35th annual National Intercollegiate Equitation Championship conducted by the American National Riding Commission.

TOWSON, Md. — The IHSA Zone IV Championships conducted today offered the high point colleges in each of the zone's four regions the opportunity to grab one of the two available bids to 2012 National Horse Show next month in Raleigh, N.C. Goucher, which last weekend nailed down the Region I title, needed to achieve a higher score than two of the other three teams it was competing against.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Karli Postel (Newbury Park, Calif./Oaks Christian School) and Amory Brandt (Saratoga, Calif./Lynbrook) established themselves as strong contenders to represent Goucher and compete in the open division at the IHSA National Horse Show with stellar performances at today's Zone IV Region I Championships at Hazelwild Farm.

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher scored only 24 points and finished in a three-way tie for fifth place at today's IHSA riding show, but because director Patte Zumbrun and her riders came into the show with a nearly insurmountable lead in the Zone IV-Region I standings, that was plenty.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Superior performances by Chaz Kellogg (Pennington, N.J./Wellesley) and Lisa Taylor (Baltimore, Md./Oldfields School) in the novice division helped Goucher score 36 points at today's IHSA riding show at Hazelwild Farm, which nearly clinched the 2011-12 Zone IV Region I title for Patte Zumbrun's riding program.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Goucher sent a strong message to the other intercollegiate riding programs in Zone IV Region I that it doesn't intend to be caught by finishing as the high point college today at the first of two IHSA shows that will take place this weekend at Hazelwild Farm.
