Cole Surpasses 50 Goals During Loss to Crusaders

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Goucher's Colleen Cole (Holliston, Mass./Northfield Mt. Hermon School) became the first player in the Landmark Conference to surpass 50 goals this season today, but her five-goal performance against Susquehanna wasn't enough to prevent the Gophers from suffering a 17-7 setback at the hands of the Crusaders.

TOWSON, Md. — By scoring the first goal of the second half, Goucher was able to wipe out the one-goal deficit it found itself in at halftime of today's Landmark Conference game against Drew. But by scoring only one more goal the rest of the game, the Gophers allowed the Rangers to depart Beldon Field with a 12-6 victory.

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher had one player on offense that Scranton had trouble containing and a goalie that the Royals had trouble solving: Colleen Cole (Holliston, Mass./Northfield Mt. Hermon School) produced seven goals and Ashley Shaner (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) made 14 saves as the Gophers registered a 15-6 victory today in their first Landmark Conference game of the season.

Hermon School) scored her fifth goal of the game off a free-position shot with more than 15 minutes remaining, Goucher trailed Washington (Md.) by only two. But the Shorewomen limited the Gophers to only one more goal the rest of the way and emerged with a 14-9 victory this afternoon.

Bengals Take Command After Giving Up Initial Goal

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher got on the scoreboard first today on an unassisted goal by Cindy Villarreal (Silver Spring, Md./Wheaton) just 2:18 into the contest, but less than seven minutes later, Buffalo St. had opened up a 6-1 lead and was on its way to a 16-8 triumph over head coach Katie Trainor's Gophers.

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher battled all the way back from an eight-goal deficit in the first half this afternoon to tie the score against Wellesley at 14-14 before an unassisted goal by Molly Morrow with 1:52 allowed the Blue to come away with a 15-14 victory over the Gophers.

Gophers Remain Stuck on Four Goals, Bow to Spartans

YORK, Pa. — Four of Goucher's first five shots against York this afternoon turned into goals as head coach Katie Trainor's squad enjoyed a 4-2 lead with 7:56 remaining in the first half. The rest of the way, however, the Gophers were held scoreless by the Spartans, who caught up by halftime and then pulled away in the second half for a 9-4 victory.
