Ungar, Miller Preside Over Dedication Ceremonies

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher's intercollegiate athletic teams, along with many of the institution's club and intramural sports programs, have been practicing and playing on the new synthetic turf and under the lights at Beldon Field for more than a month, and today many of the people that made these improvements possible were recognized at halftime of a Landmark Conference women's soccer game between the Gophers and Susquehanna.

Foster, Okun Land On IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. — The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association today recognized 407 student-athletes at 152 institutions for their excellence in the classroom during the 2008-09 academic year. Among the players who made the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll were a pair of four-year letterwinners who graduated from Goucher in May: Brittany Foster (Portland, Maine/Portland) and Sandy Okun (Stevenson, Md./McDonogh School).

Tersigni Earns All-Region Recognition from IWLCA

CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. – For the 15th consecutive year at least one player from Goucher earned all-region honors in the sport of women's lacrosse when the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced today that Marlo Tersigni (Boston, Mass./Lawrence Academy) was a second-team midfielder on the 2009 All-Boardwalk Region Women's Lacrosse Team.

Gophers Bow to Defending Landmark Champions

TOWSON, Md. – Senior goalkeeper Brittany Foster (Portland, Maine/Portland) made 11 saves for Goucher in the first half of today's Landmark Conference game against Catholic and yet the Gophers still trailed 9-3. The Cardinals scored nine more times in the second half to earn an 18-7 victory.
