Landmark Conference Issues Spring Academic Honor Roll

MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference, which recently completed its fourth year of competition and is comprised of eight like-minded institutions in the mid-Atlantic region, today recognized 279 student-athletes for their academic accomplishments by placing them on the 2011 Spring Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Twenty-two of the honorees are from Goucher.

Top-Seeded Cardinals Turn Back Gophers, 19-9

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Goucher got on the scoreboard first against Catholic this afternoon in the semifinals of 2011 Landmark Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship, but the top-seeded Cardinals allowed the Gophers to score only one more goal the entire half and went on to defeat the Gophers, 19-9.

TOWSON, Md. — The two teams going head-to-head for the final berth in the Landmark Conference’s upcoming postseason tournament were clicking on offense today. Goucher strung together nine consecutive goals over one stretch of the first half that lasted more than 16 minutes, yet the Gophers were only up 14-8 on Susquehanna at halftime.

Seahawks Regain Control in Second Half, Roll to 17-8 Win

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher bunched four goals into the final minute of the first half to knock what had been a seven-goal deficit down to 9-6, but St. Mary's (Md.) regained control by scoring the first five goals of the second half and came away with a 17-8 non-conference victory over head coach Katie Trainor's squad today on Beldon Field.
