MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference today announced the names of the 28 student-athletes who make up the 2011 Spring Landmark All-Academic Team, which recognizes two male and two female athletes who have excelled athletically and academically from each of the eight Landmark institutions which chose to submit nominees.

MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference, which recently completed its fourth year of competition and is comprised of eight like-minded institutions in the mid-Atlantic region, today recognized 279 student-athletes for their academic accomplishments by placing them on the 2011 Spring Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Twenty-two of the honorees are from Goucher.

PERRY, N.Y. — Two players from head coach Kyle Hannan's 2011 squad were recognized today as being among the best at their positions in the nation.

MADISON, N.J. — Justin Dunn (Denver, Colo./Mullen) and Kyle Boncaro (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) became the sixth and seventh players in the history of Goucher's men's lacrosse program to earn all-conference honors at least three times during their careers when they — along with four of their teammates — were included on the 2011 All-Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Team.

TOWSON, Md. — Instead of Goucher winning back-to-back titles, Scranton became the fourth team to capture the Landmark Conference championship in the sport of men’s lacrosse in the conference’s four-year history when the Royals defeated the Gophers, 12-8, this afternoon. A crowd of 469 was on hand in Gopher Stadium for the finals of the 2011 Landmark Conference postseason tournament.

TOWSON, Md. — In the six games leading up to the 2011 Landmark Conference postseason tournament, Connor Mishaw (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) put up some eye-popping numbers as he tended the goal for Goucher: 43 goals allowed and 96 saves for a 7.04 goals against average and a .691 save percentage.

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher is the No. 1 seed in the Landmark Conference Men’s Lacrosse Championship for the third consecutive year and head coach Kyle Hannan’s Gophers will begin defense of their 2010 Landmark title when they host Susquehanna in a semifinal on Wednesday.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Goucher had its eight-game winning streak snapped this afternoon and the Gophers fumbled a chance to clinch being the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference postseason tournament when Scranton’s Mike Rufo tallied an unassisted goal 1:40 into overtime to provide the Royals with a 9-8 victory.

MADISON, N.J. — Goucher players were recipients of both of the weekly honors the Landmark Conference dished out today in the sport of men's lacrosse: junior attackman Rory Averett (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock North) was named Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore defenseman Paul Taylor (San Antonio, Texas/St. Mary's Hall) was selected Defensive Player of the Week for March 21-27.
