2023 Women's Volleyball Slate Opens September 2

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College women's volleyball team begins 2023 with a tri-match on Saturday, September 2, taking on host Penn State-Harrisburg as well as Notre Dame Maryland. The tri-match kicks off a 25-match slate for the Gophers this season.

Goucher is away from the Decker Sports and Recreation Center for the season's first nine matches. The Gophers open the home schedule on Friday, September 22 against Alvernia, a match that kicks off an eight-match homestand. The following day, Goucher entertains Widener and Gallaudet in a tri-match that begins at 11 am.

The Landmark Conference has expanded to 10 teams for the 2023 season with the addition of Lycoming College and Wilkes University. With the shift, the conference schedule has gone from two Saturday quad-matches and three midweek matches to a more traditional home-and-away schedule. Goucher opens Landmark play on Friday, September 29 when it hosts Scranton, before welcoming Drew to Decker the following afternoon.

After opening October against Trinity Washington on October 4, the rest of the month sees exclusively conference competition, including home dates against Catholic (Oct. 10), Wilkes (Oct. 20) and Moravian (Oct. 21). Landmark play wraps up the following weekend as the Gophers travel to defending national champion Juniata (Oct. 27) and Lycoming (Oct. 28). The regular season concludes the following Saturday (Nov. 4) as the Gophers host a tri-match featuring Cabrini and Rutgers-Camden.

With two new teams, the Landmark Conference tournament expands to six for 2023. First round matches are slated for Tuesday, November 7, with the semifinals two days later. The title match is set for Saturday, November 11.
